Minogz trip in Dec.,2005
In remote mountain valleys of the south of guizhou mystically inhabit two subgroups of Miao, Dahua(big flower) and Changjiao(long horn). Through still striving for basic necessities, they have enjoyed the simple and honest life for generations mainly due to the Christ they do believe and rely on.
Every Christmas, villages are demonstrated with colors and suffused with happiness. All villagers, delicately dressed, will gather in simple and rough church to celebrate Christmas in magnificent but emotional ceremonies. Women are in colorful jackets and pleated skirts with a wooden horn fastened with hair on the heads while men wear embroidery aprons. With no any fancy gift and farewell meal for the day, it is yet emotional, heavenly mindedness and true feeling.
Mess on Sunday
In Dec. 2003, MINOGZ organized a travel to appreciate this special festival, Christmas of Miao. We were chocked and touched by their hospitality and innocent pure hear to Christ. Actually, it is rather a discovering and experiencing of human life and culture on this pure land than just a travel itself.
Besides Christmas, Dahua and Changjiao celebrate Easter day with the same ceremonies. Formally in traditional dress, people worship on every Sunday in their rough churches echoed with them.
